Surface Dressing
Paul Barlow
04.08.2017–18.08.2017

Slugtown are proud to present Surface Dressing, an exhibition of new work by Sheffield based artist Paul Barlow.

Visibility, contingency, depth perception and the peripheral all filter in Paul Barlow’s work as a means of questioning how the frame, as both a support and as an image-making device, can intervene on the experience of viewing in the outside world, or how painting can work in speed and time.

Paul Barlow graduated in 2013 with a BA from Sheffield Hallam University and has recently been accepted into the Royal Academy Schools class of 2020.

Paul Barlow (b. 1988) Recent exhibitions include: In Well Ventilated Areas, Losers Gym, Nottingham; Blind Spots, Ana Cristea Gallery, New York; The Painting School (New Materialities), Bloc Projects, Sheffield.
